Look for brushes that are less tightly packed by highlighter brush manufacturers, those that are described as silky, airy, fluffy, or light–because they will pick up less product and disseminate it more evenly, resulting in a delicate, more gradual glow. You may still want a more moderate brush for modest highlighter formulations because the product starts subtle, but if you're aiming to make a strong highlighter more buildable in shine, an airy brush excels.

It is best used with softer powders that have a fine to moderate amount of sparkle. It should not use with glitters unless it was a more softly-pressed glittery highlighter. It's a little face brush with tapered bristles that end in a rounded edge. It excels in smoothing out the edges of various powders on the face while being flatter.
